Tacoma Mall

Real estate investment company Simon, which owns the Tacoma Mall property, announced that the location will be going through a multimillion-dollar revitalization effort next year.

Work on the project will begin in the spring of 2025 and is expected to be completed by winter 2025. The renovation will modernize amenities at the mall as well as upgrade some of its designs and family-friendly spaces. According to a release, renovations include:

  • Upgraded and redesigned mall entrances;
  • A completely refreshed food court with new flooring, community tables, upgraded seating, lighting, and color palette;
  • Refurbishment of both restrooms and Nursing Lounge improvements;
  • More than 100,000 square feet of new flooring throughout the mall as well as new lighting elements, seating amenities, and a lighter, brighter color palette to enhance each customer’s experience; and
  • A reimagined children’s play area featuring elements to engage play and imagination.

The renovations are part of Simon’s effort to expand and refine the shopping destination, which is also going through the construction of another multimillion-dollar project, The Village. That project will see the addition of two new buildings that will host new retailers, cafés, and restaurants such as Shake Shack, Dave’s Hot Chicken, and Supreme Dumpling

“As Simon makes strategic investments to meet the evolving needs of our shoppers, we are proud to announce enhancements to ensure that Tacoma Mall will continue to be a premier shopping, dining, and entertainment destination that draws in shoppers from throughout the region,” Kelly Hartsell, regional vice president of Simon, said in the release.

The Tacoma Mall currently hosts more than 150 retail shops.
